A very intimate Fredericksburg, TX wedding at Diamond Y Ranch.
I met both Allison and Amr at Jamie and Amien’s elopement a few years ago. Besides Jamie’s dad, they were the only guests at that very sweet ceremony. Allison was Jamie’s maid of honor and bringer of tissues when necessary.
Amr and Allison had a very different but still very intimate wedding celebration. Though they’ve been together for many years after meeting at work, there hadn’t been that many opportunities for their families to spend time together. So their idea was to find a venue that had beautiful spaces for their ceremony and reception as well as cozy accommodations for family.
This has been a trend we’ve seen a lot of lately and it’s lovely! Instead of having one day to celebrate, they had an entire weekend to spend together. How sweet to get to visit with everyone so long! Time for families to get to know each other better over rehearsal dinner, breakfast and lunch and wedding time and brunch the day after. Their families were not from Texas, so a beautiful Hill Country venue like Diamond Y Ranch was a perfect setting to show off a lot of what Allison and Amr love about their adopted home. The Ranch welcomes pets which was a major consideration for them. They wanted to include their little rescue pup, Aloha, in their celebrations.
During their ceremony, the emotions were particularly intense. It’s almost like it was the culmination of all that time together building up to this day, this moment.There were other equally teary-eyed moments like when Amr’s brother shared his speech and mentioned their father. There were many moments of laughter, too! Jamie’s speech for instance and when Allison’s brother danced with her.
It was beautiful.
