Finding Love Again

Questions?

How would you describe your style?
We are lifestyle photographers. Our style is photojournalistic, candid, with some direction and style. So our photographs are approachable, relaxed, and timeless. Artistically we really love vibrance, warm shadows, and clean, realistic skin tones. That said, we do occasionally stray into the dramatic. We love to play with smoke and old lenses for their unique qualities, and how can a good Golden Hour photo not be dramatic!

How many images do you provide?
We provide 50-75 images per hour of shooting. It’s important for our clients and us that it’s more about quality and not quantity. The photos are delivered approximately six to eight weeks after your wedding date. We do try to post a few sneak peeks online a few days after the big day. It’s hard not to!

Will all the pictures be edited?
We edit every image, so it has our signature “look.” We will take the time to remove blemishes---non-permanent marks---on your wedding day portrait images. However, we do not over-process the photos until you look plastic. Your skin will still look like, well, your skin and not like a vinyl doll. If there are more extensive adjustments that you would like made, we can make it happen. Additional changes (beyond touch-ups mentioned above) cost $150/hour.

How will we receive our images?
We have an online gallery for our clients. Once we receive the final payment, we send you a link to your gallery. Prints and wall art can be ordered through the gallery. We encourage you to share it with family and friends so they can do the same.

We also include a set of identical images but are smaller, sized perfectly for social media. That makes it much easier for you to share!

How do we book you?
A non-refundable retainer of one third and the signed contract are all that’s needed to hold your date for you. The second payment is due thirty days before your wedding. The final payment is due when your photos are ready.

We accept all major credit cards.

Do you travel?
We charge only the travel fees and a per diem rate to cover basic needs but no more than that. We do prefer to make the arrangements ourselves if flights are involved.

What kind of equipment do you use?
We use Fujifilm professional camera bodies as well as modern, professional lenses. Our images professionally edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

How do you handle formal photos and group shots?
While we do lean heavily in the direction of candids, we also know that formal shots are significant to many of our clients. We recommend that we get at least 30 minutes alone with you two, 10 minutes for the bridesmaids, 10 minutes for the groomsmen, and 5 minutes for each family grouping.

Usually, we have time left over, which means lots of extra time to be with you two or for you alone to take a breather between events. Couples who book us often schedule their bride and groom portrait time to coincide with that hour/half hour before sunset. We photographers love getting to shoot at golden hour. We are more than happy to help with your schedule.

My uncle/cousin/friend/sibling wants to learn wedding photography. Can they bring their camera and shoot, too?
We recommend that you ask your guests to refrain from taking photographs during the ceremony. We do not require this, however. We ask that guests leave the formal shots to us. Time is minimal on a wedding day, and we need to make sure everyone’s attention is on our camera.

We want you to enjoy your guests and want them to be present and focused on celebrating with you. Leaving cameras, phones, etc. at home goes a long way to making sure that happens.

Do you require a break for a meal?
For events that are five hours or longer, we require a break to eat: a vendor meal or a spot in the buffet line. Ideally, we would eat when you eat so that we won’t miss any critical events.

What People are Saying

Every soon-to-be bride I speak with, I tell them that finding a photographer for your wedding is THE hardest thing. There are SO many photographers to choose from so I had tasked my mom with helping me find one… she picked Mercedes Morgan Photography and we couldn’t be more happy with her selection. They photographed our engagement shoot and our wedding day. They were AMAZING at suggesting locations for our engagement session that matched the style I was looking for. We loved our engagement photos and am still in awe over our wedding photos. They sure know what they’re doing. Not only were the photos stunning, Mercedes and Jesse are fun to be around and easily share in the joy that is happening during your wedding day (which makes posing for pictures all day MUCH easier). We’ve already told Mercedes and Jesse that we want them to capture every next step in our lives… these photos are going to be cherished for our lifetime, our children’s and many more.

Mercedes and Jesse were wonderful to work with and I’m so glad we chose them for our wedding. They really took the time to get to know us and was so sweet and responsive during the process. I didn’t know what to expect but I let them know what I was looking for and they delivered above and beyond. They are extremely talented and have an eye for light. I was absolutely blown away by the pictures and have received so many compliments from our family and friends. They took our engagements photos as well and made us feel so relaxed and comfortable throughout the shoot. You won’t regret choosing Mercedes Morgan Photography for your big day, she is amazing!!

Choosing a photographer is probably the #1 important aspect of a wedding. You only have one chance to capture it, one chance only! After texting several photographers, it seemed Mercedes Morgan Photography was #1 in customer service and very prompt & courteous! I enjoyed our small talk and humorous conversation in less than 30 minutes. I believe having a smooth conversation was one good part of choosing them, but also their images speak for themselves. Some of our images were candid shots and they captured them amazingly! You can catch the feelings through those shots and I love that! She and Jesse did amazing! Thank you guys!
